Brand new season with: "I know nothing about wine" with Merete Bø and Thomas Gjertsen

The podcast for Merete Bø and Thomas Gjertsen recently took up questions from listeners, and here the white bordeaux wine from Domaine de Saint Amand is included and was recommended there. Merete talks about how she does not judge according to her taste according to her understanding of quality and has an education where it is taught that the ability to describe and understand quality is what is important. Merete thinks this wine is a good buy.

Impresses with "Norwegian" wine from French Ventoux

There are starting to be quite a few Norwegians making wine around the world. A new "star" among Norwegian winemakers is Even Andreas Bakke, who is based in France, at the Clos de Trias vineyard in Ventoux in Southern Rhône. He has a slightly different background to many of the other Norwegians who have traveled out to follow the "wind dream". Bakke, who was born in Boulder, Colorado in the USA and grew up with Norwegian parents partly in the US, partly in Norway, worked for 14 years with wine at, among others, Matanazas Creek and Landmark in Sonoma before establishing himself in the Rhône Valley with his own vineyard. Now he is current with his first Norwegian listing, Clos de Trias Red Label Ventoux 2015.

Clos de Trias is a vineyard the Bakke family bought in 2007, after two years of searching in several French regions. Bakke and his wife had then moved to her native France from the USA in 2005. The vines on the farm they found are from 45-90 years old, and as it should be in the southern Rhône, there is a main emphasis on the grapes Grenache, Syrah , carignan and cinsault.

Even Andreas Bakke is the winemaker at Clos de Trias. When he moved from the United States to France to invest in wine production there, it was with his French wife and their two children. The wife comes from the Paillard champagne family, so there is a wine kinship to take care of. Parents Even and Ragnhild Bakke also helped finance the purchase in Ventoux. The latter ran the Oslo restaurant in New York while they lived in the USA. Now she is in charge of cooking at the vineyard.

The wine of Domaine de Saint Amand is produced under the two designations Cadillac Côtes-de-Bordeaux and Bordeaux. The grape varieties used are Merlot, Malbec, Semillon and Sauvignon.

Congratulations to our producers who have won gold in Paris for some of their wines!

Solmimosa is lucky enough to represent two great wine producers in Norway. Chateau des Chaberts and Domaine du Loou.

This winter they have won gold for two of their rosé wines in the Concours Général Agricole in Paris. In addition, both producers have received stars and hearts in France's wine bible "Le Guide Hachette des vin 2022" for some of their wines. We are so lucky that the wine can be bought in Norway.
